Shota Ito

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.

Shota Ito began his double bass studies with Shinji Nishiyama (NHK SO)
and Shu Yoshida (NHK SO).

He participated in master classes with Klaus Stoll (Berlin Philharmonic),
Philipp Stubenrauch (Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra)
and Edicson Ruiz (Berlin Philharmonic).

In 2015 and 2016, he chosen a member for the tour in German and Italy of Bavarian State Youth Orchestra (BLJO).

Recently, his performance of John Cage’s 4’33” for “Support Program for Arts and Culture” by Tokyo Metropolitan Government was highly acclaimed.

He also focus on the educational program as “Friends of El Sistema Japan” (in Fukushima), “El Sistema Connect“, many public school’s programs and so on.
